I am a breathwork facilitator based out of Los Angeles, California. I've been on my own personal healing journey for over 18 years. In 2015 I tried my first breathwork class on a whim and found it to be a really transformative experience, something I really needed at that moment. I was in my first year of marriage and feeling miserable about my life. During that class I unexpectedly found myself sobbing uncontrollably and then, gently guided by the teacher, I gave myself the biggest hug of acceptance, validation, and self-love (I hadn't given myself a hug prior to that), which I still remember to this day. I left that class beaming with a feeling of pure joy and lightness that I hadn't felt in years, which I remember stayed with me for weeks. I went home that night vibrating like never before, and completely hooked. I began taking private sessions as a way to really work through the nitty gritty of all my emotional and mental stuff that I was carrying around in my head, rent-free, taking up valuable space.
The biggest change I started to notice soon after starting a regular breathwork practice was that I no longer felt triggered and crying when it felt like somebody criticized, judged, or disagreed with me. We all know these people and have them in our lives, and it's often those closest to us that trigger us and cause us the most pain. Breathwork finally let me start clearing all that unprocessed junk that I couldn't seem to shake, especially all of my own self-judgments and limiting beliefs. It helped me start to intentionally create the experiences I wanted in my life, and it helped me to start taking responsibility for my actions and thoughts. It helped me discern what was mine and what was not, and stop taking on other people's stuff as my own. Breathwork taught me the tools to intentionally create and manifest, to feel centered, and basically live a healthier life.
As I continued on my breathwork journey, later that same year I joined a breathwork retreat program in Costa Rica which helped deepen my practice and commitment to myself and taught me a lot. Shortly after that I participated in my first teacher training program, even though I had no intention of becoming a teacher, I just wanted to do it for my own personal growth.
I feel deeply about the power of breathwork's ability to bring about healing, and an opening in each person's life if you let it. Breathwork brings a new awareness and mindfulness to your way of being. It allows you to acknowledge the past and release anything that needs releasing. It teaches us to foster a relationship with our intuition, develop inner self-love, and intentionally manifesting our positive forward evolution.
Breathwork has the potential to create tremendous growth if you want it to, but you really don't need to put that kind of pressure on it or on yourself. It's best to approach Breathwork as a fun time to lay down, close your eyes, listen to music, scream, cry, laugh, release, amp yourself up, and drift off for a little recharge nap, all within the same single session.
My intention in providing breathwork sessions, classes, and retreats is to help make change and healing more accessible to others. I really believe in breathwork's ability to do all that and more which is why I've chosen to teach breathwork and host retreats.
The work I do is based only on my own personal experiences, and as such, may not be for everybody, but if you approach breathwork with an open mind and heart, I promise you’ll receive invaluable personal growth and value, even just from one session.
